Just reapply the material/texture.
hi
It is not working because max n maya has different scale views.and how do i know that how the texture was applied in max with unwrap or was applied direct. And how do i know that some texture were applies in some part of object n some in other part. So it is very difficult to know which texture was applied in which part of object .So it is not working to reapply .
Thank you
Have a look at the object's modifier stack in 3dsMax. If there is one, collapse the stack. That way UV coordinates are baked into the object.and how do i know that how the texture was applied in max with unwrap or was applied direct
Open the material editor, use the 'get Material from Object' function and look for yourself. Ifthe object has a Multi/Sub-Material applied, bake the maps using the Render to texture function and reapply the new material before exporting. And how do i know that some texture were applies in some part of object n some in other part.
I'm having similar or same problem... So I built 3D object (a simple box) in 3D Studio Max and exported as both .obj and .fbx... Imported to Maya... now I'm in Maya with the object, I'm trying to add Bump Map (fractal) to the object... somehow, it doesn't work!!! I rendered it... I don't see no texture, no bump map!!! What's going on? I can change color and shader but bump mapping don't work!!! Please please help!!!
If you can't see the texture it could be also normals issue. I had issues in maya when the normals where either reversed or partially reversed.
To fix it in maya go to Normals/Set to face (make sure the default radio button is checked - unlock vert face normals)
Normals/ Reverse - if needed.
Then fix the normals smoothing by harden edge \ soften edge or by set normal angle.
If the normals are ok FBX should work. Make sure you have the latest FBX plugins installed (get for free from the autodesk site). The built in ones in max and maya are rather old.
