Whenever I start a new Nuke file, the project settings are set to 24 fps and the file format to HD 1920x1080. However, I'm currently working on a PAL 16:9 project at 25 fps. Is there a way to set Nuke to have those settings by default? It's not a huge issue, but it would be nice to not have to change those settings every single time I start a new script.

I'm working in both Nuke5.0v1 and 5.1v1b4 64bit if that helps.

Our studio is part of the beta test right now. Every now and then we stumble onto a new bug or 2, but it's pretty solid so far.

Cool, thanks for the info, I am really looking forward for the 64 bit Nuke for Mac OSX, so far the only problem for me is Leopard, I still prefer Tiger but maybe Nuke can make me change, lol.

Edit "Formats.tcl" from nuke plug-in dir,

    Example : knob root.format PAL_16:9

I already have formats.tcl edited to

    # Set the default full and proxy formats:
    knob root.format PAL_16:9
    knob root.proxy_format PAL_16:9

and that doesn't change anything. It still defaults to HD 1080p. Oddly enough, the default was set to PC_Video previously. Not 1080p. Is there another option somewhere that would be overriding it or something like that?

Use python. Add the following lines to your menu.py

    nuke.knobDefault("Root.format", "PAL_16:9")
    nuke.knobDefault("Root.fps", "25")

Nuke should now start with this default settings.
Tell us more about Nuke5.1 please!!

    cheers

I think I found the problem. Nuke is referencing the plugins folder on our separate license server. I'm not sure if I should be editing it, so I guess I'll just keep switching whenever I make a new file.

You can make your own custom menu.py where ever you want. The only thing you have to do, is set the Path to it. Easiest way is to add the path in your init.py found in your installation plugins folder.

To be honest, this is my first time really using Nuke. I've been mostly a Fusion and Shake artist prior to this job, so I don't really know how 5.1 compares to older versions. Sorry.
