Are you compositor and do you want to learn 3d and improve your still ? There is 2 cool training for you ! This dvds aren't too new but it's really good for learning how to use 3d software for your job, i think this dvds are really helpful for understanding 3d-2d integration .. (with these, you are going to learn finishing job, not 3d function and you don't have to use combustion, possible to use nuke, fusion or shake for compositing,)

    1. 3D Effects Compositing

Take your computer generated imagery to a new level with the ultimate in compositing control. Using NewTek's LightWave 3D and Discreet Combustion, Digital Effects artist Jarrod Davis demonstrates advanced compositing techniques that can be applied to many 3D and compositing applications. Set up the 3D scene to maximize compositing options, object lighting for textured environments, render individual layer passes, apply multi-layered effects, Color correction, filters and grain to blend the elements for final output.

    2. Set Extensions

Set extenstions and matte paintings have been used in film production for decades to create settings that are either too expensive or impossible to build. Now you can apply these same techniques to create professional quality scenic backdrops. Using LightWave 3D and Discreet Combustion, Digital Effects Artist Jarrod Davis shows you the techniques to turn an average street corner into a futuristic cityscape. From matching camera angles and lighting to adding scenic elements and finishing touches.

These seems like two greate products and I am considering buying them. But how much of the tutorial is done in 3d apps, and how much is done in fusion/flame/shake etc.?
I'm not good in any 3d app, and I it's not my goal to me so good either. But if this is focusing on the general workflow between 3d and comp apps I am interested.

    Is there a website?

You don't need to know too much 3d, as i said, it show you 3d-2d integration, i think this dvds are one of the best for learning 3d-2d integration, in dvds, you have project file for combustion and lw scene. For set extension dvd, he start from matching camera to multi-pass rendering, and than go to combustion for compositing, you are going to learn how to finish your set extension job, not 3d or 2d software function, you will learn 3d and 2d, for 3d you don't need to know lw and if you want, you can use maya or other software for 3d and also you can skip 3d part for a moment ..

    Thanks.
