    Hi all!!

I'm trying to render a model in wireframe style. I've simply added a clean black texture to the model with the Wire option set and it looks fine.. However, the problem is that the wireframe model is way to dense.. There are way too many vertices / edges visible so it allmost looks smoothed / skinned anyway..

How can I reduce the vertices / edges of my model so the rendered wireframe model doesn't look so dense so I can actually see clear edges and crossings??

    Any help is appreciated!!

    THNX ALL!
    Kind regards,
    Roel

The wire texture will display all "visible" edges. You have 3 options, none of which are good. One, find or create a lower density mesh. Two, edit the object on the sub-object level and selectively hide edges (you can make edges visible based on angle [autoedge], but this rarely works the way you want.) Three, try projecting a grid as a texture onto the object.

You can make the thickness of the wire smaller, which will help in some cases. However, if you need a clean wireframe to render, many times you will have no choice but to create a specific model for that purpose.

    Hi!!

Actually, I found a much easier solution which worked perfectly. I copied my model, applied a push modifier to it and then a Lathe, which creates a wireframe for you all by itself and applies it to the skin of the model. It's also pretty adjustable. It worked great!

    Thnx for your replies !
