  1. #1 Camera type vs picture noise (for motion tracking)
    Hi all,

I'm contemplating the purchase of a handheld video camera for around the $300 mark. Essentially I'll be shooting pieces that will end up matchmoved, then output as SD. For a while I've been looking at Panasonic 3CCD DV SD cams as I know that DV tape produces a better picture than some other compression types.
However I'm also tempted by the huge amount of HD cams out there and it's led me to wondering something. Due to the compression that the cheaper cams use, would the noise in the picture be detrimental to the advantages gained through using HD footage in a matchmoving app?
Essentially, what would you guys advise for around $300?

    Alex
