I think that each software has their own advantages, may be fusion is good for compositing, but for motion graphics better use AE, you can use AE for compositing too, only AE was more inclined towards motion graphics because many plugins that facilitate performance. But thats all back to each person, because whatever kind of project, not machine or sofware make it happen, but people make it happen.

I love fusion because is easy for rotoscope, so I can simplify my work time in compositing.

I did not switch to Fusion, I started with Fusion !
...unless you would count Photoshop or Lightwave as a comp package haha

I started my compositing days with Fusion, back when it was called Digital Fusion 2.5 .... you know, those good ol' better days, when life was much more, the sky was more blue, the grass greener and the sun...well, I hardly see it since then............

No harm in having a little ^organic^ thread growth to the site
It's not getting out of hand either so we can a little.

Off the top of my head, 'Blur Studio' and 'Custom Film Effect's use Fusion...and 'Duck Studio' is mainly an After Effects house.

uncharted territory uses fusion and a lot of other smaller shops do to, just because the 10 (or so) big companies use nuke doesnt make fusion irrelevant

I'm guessing you mean in Germany. I don't know anyone here that primarily uses it.

lets assume eyeon is not lying about the usage of fusion in feature films, where does this list come from then?

and fusion is a very professional tool, which has some advantages over every other package i know. it has some downsides and it is not so much in the spotlight like nuke, but thats a diffrent story.

i like fusion, i believe its a great tool, but most of the time i work with nuke now. so, maybe its just sympathy for the underdog

so what? if we all say in the beginners threads: its not about the tools, its the artist that makes the shot.

Yup if one small company uses fusion for one paint shot they can add it to the list.

Also noticed several of those features are Prime Focus doing stereo conversion.....does that really count?

I worked on several of those films and did not ever use Fusion or know of which if any vendors were using fusion.

I did a small experiment, composed the same cgi composition in AE and Nuke. I didn't see any big speed difference. Everyone is now horny on node based editors, the 3d aplications have now node based material editors everything is now node based. Its sooo cool, its soo faancy, so great.....I hate it.
