  1. #1 maximize a viewer
    hi all,

a small thing that has been bothering me trying nuke is that i am used to set my viewer in my primary monitor which has the windows taskbar under it. in windows maximizing the windows fits them so that nothing goes under this taskbar, however that seems not to be the case with nuke viewers, if i double click on the header, it maximizes the viewer nicely but i lose the info reads on the rgb channels and the timeline on the bottom part of the viewer. so at the moment i just maximize the viewer by grabing its edges and just try to line it up nicely. Due to several reasons i would like my primary monitor stay primary and the taskbar to stay under it

not a huge problem but if someone has a clever solution i'd be very happy.

    thanks.

I was going to say use Alt-s over the viewer to make it take up your entire primary screen whilst you work in Nuke. But, it might be a bit irritating if you do not wish to keep using Alt-s to flip between seeing your taskbar and seeing the entire Viewer in Nuke. Sorry, not on a windows box at the moment :/ .

As a side thought, have you tried saving that layout after you've resized the Viewer by grabbing edges and manually lining it up? If you have, is the saved layout not loading correctly after a restart or layout switch?

Hey a quick little workaround I found was to do this:

    1. In the panel with the viewer, click on the layout button and split vertically. Now you should see the viewer and an empty panel.

    2. Hover your mouse over the viewer and press the spacebar. This will maximize the viewer panel.

now you should be able to double click the header to maximize the window and have the entire viewer panel show up

cool, i used the split vertically trick and saved it to my default layout, now all i need to do is press shift+1 and my viewer lines up perfectly. thanks a lot.
