    Hey guys

Im having a serious issue with Syntheys, I auto track my footage and when I go to solve my solve is sometimes 0.?? range and sometimes it has a number great than 1.??, so anyways I go into my graph editor and its all gray, so I delete alot of tracks so it would be green, after doing so I place a 3D object in the scene and there is alot of sliding, so I try to place more trackers down, howere they do not stick, the only way I can the trackers to stay in place is to manually set the trackers hand by hand. Is there something worng that I am doing?

    Thanks for the advanced help.

I've just been using SE myself (usually PFtrack or Boujou in the past).

I've been getting major issues with PFTrack and fast, high shutter speed, hand held camera movement. Obviously with my shot, there isn't going to be an automated way of tracking it, so I've done all of the 2d tracking points myself (always making sure there are at least 8 2d points on EVERY SINGLE FRAME!). However, for some reason PFTrack is still re-jecting my tracking points during the camera 'solve'.
So, I decided to try out SE, and did exactly the same thing, 8 2d tracking points on every single frame (I think 6 is minimum required). And SE had no problems during the solve, and it's pretty much spot on, however needs co-ordinate refinements as some tracking points aren't on the floor (need to constrain them now).

That's all I can think of, make sure you have enough tracking points, and see if it solves with that before adding more automated ones.

    BTW:
The PDF manual is EXTREMELY helpful, although confusing at times but the video tutorials on the site help out a lot as well.

syntheyes uses manual trackers to guide autotracking, do at least few manual tracks thru the shot first, then autotrack. Or even better do 8 to 10 manual tracks and solve. Make sure to use co-ordinate system. SE is really fast with tracking and solving, do little manual work for precise solution.

if your origin is on the air it should slide..never use auto track..and check out bad frames you can delete from menu or you can delete from graph editor.syntheyes is a great tool i had ever seen..when you solved the scene, edit>view>sort by error press the up arrow you will get bad frames and have a look on graph editor you can cut high thresholds..after then refine it..or show your scene what s the problem..and last thing check distortion...first of all you should kill the distortion..distortion is murder of matchmove
    have a nice day

Ok sorry but I'm having some other issues with syntheyes, I have solved my previous problem, I solved the problem by just masking out the object I didn't want to track. I did this at my friends house who has a pc, but now when I open up the syntheyes file on my computer which is a mac, I can't see my footage only my tracks and 3d objects.

    Thanks for the help
