Thanks for letting us know Leo, I noticed that a lot of those companies are defunct, so we'll get them weeded out.

VFXTalk isn't a company with paid employees the site is run by professionals who - like most of us, have busy jobs to do ontop of maintaining and funding a website.

I don't think any of us are in a position to be making demands regarding a service we are provided for free. Even if it is imperfect.

Though, just to say - whilst additional mod work is a bit much given work commitments, there are surely some things that can be done to prevent bots signing up - an image verification code in the sign up process is what most sites seem to go for, and that fixes the majority of forum issues in one swoop.

    Regards,
    Matt

The bots thing has been an ongoing problem, but I am not sure (and I am not in a position) to upgrade the vbulletin system with a newer version. There are many things I'd like to fix, but like Matt mentioned, there is no one paid to take care of the site. The advertisements go directly back into the hosting, and the moderators and administrators are full-time already in the industries, so we try to make it work..

IF you do encounter a spam thread or a spam topic, let us know! That really helps us in weeding out the bots and spam. Unfortunately, for the links above, it looked like the company went out of business, and a porn company bought the domain, which has happened in the past for other domains.
