K, a client has asked me to have a look at their animated logo, and asked to see if i can come up with anything better..

now how do i bill this?

do i bill just for time spent on the finished product? or do i charge also for time spent coming up with the idea aswell?

you should bill the idea + spent hours. Advertising agency in my country would probably charge at least 1500 € for a small to mid size company and redoing logo. And you, being alone and freelancing (hope I am not wrong here), you should charge 70% less for stuff like that. Back at home, that would approx. mean around 500 €. For a job well done of course.
    I am not alone
