can any one say how to create a rain effect on a video or is there any particles available for rain effect

Thank in advance

It's easier than you could think:
- create a black solid layer
- add noise (monocrome)
- nest this layer (ctrl+E and choose just that layer, not the entire comp)
- put the visibility as Screen
- stretch vertically and you are done!

If you want to create more depth you could use different layer perhaps more blurred.
