    Hi, jah.

I noticed that my latest--or too-late--posts for VFX401 challenge wasn't accepted as valid submissions. Does that mean that I cannot use them as part of my demo reel?

If we find footage more suitable that we can purchase or obtain, are we allowed to use that in place of the footage provided? And if yes do we need to run the footage by one of the Admins to get it approved for the project? Thanks ahead of time for the response!

@aclyons32 Well I'm not an admin, but using other footage than provided would kind of defeat the purpose wouldn't it? How would you be able to compare multiple versions if not everyone is starting from the same starting point? That's my opinion, but I think it matches quite well with that of the admins.

They have been. In the voting thread I'm pretty sure.

for the alice in wonderland challenge. Does the footage provided have to be alice's friend in the piece or can we shoot and use our own actor(s) as her friend. Right now my understanding is that we have to just incorperate the footage provided. Everything else is free game.

Hi all let me check with Jah regarding the use of the supplied footage - it was not in the list of mandatories but Shadowmaker has a good point

using other footage than provided would kind of defeat the purpose wouldn't it? How would you be able to compare multiple versions if not everyone is starting from the same starting point?
but nor do we want to check creativity!

will get back to you asap.

ok checked with Jah and all entries are to use one or both of the clips provided - this will ensure that all entries are working from the same premise.

hope that doesn't curtail and thoughts and plans! good luck!

I believe the 402 Challenge was due today (May 15th) but I see no Submission forum, are we supposed to post the finished pieces to our WIP forums? Thanks ahead of time.
