  1. #1 Nuke to maya, 2 cameras
I got an crane shot with a stillstanding crane (the boom moves from upper positon to its lower position). I want to virtually "dolly out" in the end of the shot when the tallent is standing still in the end. Does any body have a good approche for this?

I think I should in some way make another camera and parent that to the orginal camera and offset it in the end. Im a shake compositor just switching to nuke so Im not sure how to to this or if its the best way. The greenscreenplate need to follow the extended move aswell.

Then I want to export the camera/cameras and some geometri to maya. I can export FBX throw Atomslplit but I cant get the geometri to work in maya. Also the scale between maya and nuke is off as usual. Is there a fixed value (I used 0.024).

I hope I dont have to start from maya and go to nuke. I like the idea of fixing the camera move in nuke and use some simple gemoetry to navigate. Then export the scene to maya and have the simple geometri as guide for building up the complex 3d./Joel

Parent the camera to an axis and then animate the axis to add animation on top of the exiting keys.

As for the geo/cameras. There is a writeGeo node to output the geometry. Nuke uses centimeters so pending you have the same settings in Maya then everything matches up fine. Otherwise just do a basic multiplication to get it in maya to the units your using if you can't change them for whatever reason(ie 2.54 cm in an inch). There is a chan importer mel script on creativecrash for transfering the camera.

Thanks! Next time i try the axis instead witch sounds like at better solution. I must done something wrong with the axis yesterday. I finally used another camera for offset the dolly. The problem I got by 2 cameras (in a chain) was that when i wanted to get the z value from the "offset camera" it added the movement from the camera track. So I had to use seperate offseted camera for the tracked plate. This was not the best sulotion cause I had to go and change on the two "offset cameras" when ever i wanted to change the animation of the dolly. So next time definitely I try the parented axis! Thanks again Beaker/Joel
