    Dear Friends,
I am fresher in maya and m doing a project. I need to make a water splash to simulate a swan's take off - please see the images attached ().

I am using particle surface emmiter and blobby surface particals with threshold .9

But it still does not look like the reference image i have.

Can you please help me to figure my mistake and know if there is a better way to get the result i am looking for?

I will really appreciate any guidance here.
    Thanks

#1 realflow, #2 blender #3 houdini #4 there isn't unless your studio has a proprietary tool. If you really want to build a good looking splash then you will definetely want to check out one of these other tools. And a better way to simulate fluid splashes is by using maya fluids instead of particles. Unfortunately using fluids in maya to create liquid surfaces is not that good compared to the competition, but you can certainly dress it up to get as far as it will take you.

You can get a dynamic object to fall on a fluid and see the splash you can get out of that, then on top of that splash you can pile tons of particles both cloudy type and blobby type and that might give you a better result.

Try oceansplash for Maya. Oceansplash is a free plugin for Maya, it creates excellent looking splashes instantly for any animated object. The best part is, the splashes are dynamic, meaning the splashes change when your animation change.
