    1. download NFXPlugins by Nathan Dunsworth from nfxplugins.com

    2. attach your ReadGeo to the 'geo' input of a GeoAxis node (n_GeoAxis)

    3. under the GeoAxis tab of the GeoAxis node set GeometryInput > translation to bbox_center

Bingo. The object's pivot point is set to its bounding box centre

    Hope this helps.

Wait up... the pivot point goes to the center... but I can't translate/rotate/scale?

To adjust the pivot in Nuke hold down command and option at the same time and then adjust the cross hairs (pivot) accordingly. You can do it this way in 3d space as well. If you want to adjust the pivot and then translate, rotate, scale use a transform node and adjust the pivot accordingly with that transform node and then scale, rotate, translate it to how you want it to react.

can't you copy the transform settings from your imported object into the pivot point onto the transformgeo or axis node?
    As always, Completely, Embarrassing!!!
