just wondering...there probably isn't an easy-way, so what is the best way to key out the aquarium and but leave the fishes in this shot.

Thank you very much for any advice or suggestions!

    Hello!

Combination of keying and rotoscoping would give the best result. There is no automatic solution for that.

Probably one of the better ways to get maximum detail out of that is to generate a cleanplate from the shot, and then using an IBK or difference matte.
Only really feasible because It's a still shot.
(If it's not completely still - you can stabilize before you do it)

But yeah - roto will play into it. no automatic answer I'm afraid

Yeah, cleanplate and a difference keyer. Also loads of garbage mattes for all the fishes.
If you say "plz" because it's shorter than "please" then I'll say "no" because it's shorter than "yes"

You do realise how complex it will be to key this?

    Good luck though.

i have some idea...as i've already tried over the weekend...the blue is all tied into the fishes and the video itself has a lot of compression artifacts....not exactly an ideal source, but let's see if i can pull off the impossible ;-)

You'll be in for a lot of roto. I just didn't want you to have harsh expectations on yourself. It's quite a hard one due to the spill colour from the water and tank sides.
