CameraShake is a gizmo so copy it to group and access nodes that are used by the gizmo.
You can, for example attach the transform x,y to camera x,y and than divide it by 100. Remember that using the values directly from the transform node will result in sth really scary as a movement by 1 in 3D is HUGE. Remember to divide the values.

I like the thought of the real hand held method (shooting tracking points) But i need to make a multi layered hand held shot, with things at different distances from the camera..
    Here's my shot:
Man on Green screen (top layer 5 ft from cam)
Woman on green screen (middle layer 9 feet from cam)
and a Background plate with a tree 20 ft from cam)
All layers were shot locked down, but a want to add a hand held movement in Nuke.. What would work best..
    (1) shot 3 tracking points at all 3 distances, all at the same time with a held cam. then track each point and apply to each layer.. or
    (2) shoot and track the middle dot (9 ft from cam) and apply that tracking motion to a 3D camera that has all 3 layers in view..??

Why do you want to have different movement on different layers? This will not give the impression of hand held camera but most probably motion sickness.

    hi Michael L

if you want to go down the "shoot a reference and use that track" route I would suggest you start thinking more in 3d camera track and cards in space terms

Shoot your reference with a whole lot more then 3 tracking markers, usually a 3d solve needs around 8-12 markers visible at all times. Try placing them in various depths to get parallax (the farther apart in depth the better).

Place the cards in different distances to the solved camera in nuke, dont animate the cards! done. gl
