Tron Legacy rocked my geeky balls!!!!!
    Loved it.

The Grid world was very Tron like, and I felt it was loyal to the original movie. And of course an amazing light cycle sequence.

I really enjoyed the story, music was cool, and the visual effects where top notch. Some people might have felt the religious aspect was a little heavy handed, but I was fine with it. The first movie has religious undertones as well, although probably a little more subtle. I personally wished Tron himself had more of presence, but I won't say anymore as not to spoil it.

The 3D was really good. I didn't feel any of it was that tongue in check hey-look-it's-a-3D-gimmick. It helped fit the world. Avatar with a better job with it though, but that's to be expected.

As for the visual effects itself. I was impressed. But not because it called attention to itself. But because they were so part of the world they inhabited I could actually watch the movie as a movie and not go "oh, visual effects". Which is the way it should be. I don't want to go to the movies to watch visual effects. I want to watch the movie, and VFX should be like actors and blend into the world and not try to stick out.

    Overall. A good movie.

TRON: Legacy was smashing. I had goosebumps allover when the Arena battle came along. The stereo 3D is amazing too.

The story was somewhat lacking (but thats to expect from this kind of movie I guess) The visuals was superb and I especially loved the soundtrack with Daft Punk. Overall a great moviegoing experience.

the 3d was great in the scenes that had them (Or was it just me or was there shots that were totally flat?)

    Some shots were 2D.
Design of the grid is very nice. Same goes for the soundtrack.
As for the rest? Storyline is shite. Probably written by a 5 year old with an attention span of Dee Dee from Dexters Lab. This, or someone looked at the story behind the Phantom Menace and thought, "Yeah. This narration is kewl".

I thought the story was on par with the first movie.
Man goes into computer to recover files while giving off witty comments.
Son goes into computer to recover dad, while dad gives off witty comments.

I actually liked the outdated slang Kevin Flynn kept using. It reminded me of the Tron panel at the 25th anniversary screening in Santa Monica. The director was talking about his meeting with Jeff Bridges and how he pitched Tron to him. Jeff Bridges, according to the director, said "So I get to go into the computer? Far out man!"

As for comparing it to Phantom Menace. That's a little harsh. But whatever.
