transparent watermark on video

I want to put a semi-transaparent name tag bar overlaying a video that will play on the background. What is the best image format that i should take it out of photoshop as?

I use adobe premier

anything that supports an alpha channel, png being my favourite for stills.

but ping doesn't import into premier. TGA comes but the name tag i have has 80% transparency that i am not able to replicate

check your PS export settings and Premiere import settings to propperly include the alpha channel.
