Hi, I´m looking to buy a stereo system for work in nuke. Maybe somebody can help me with some recommendations.
For start I have this links, one for quadro graphics cards and one for monitors. (I have the computer, only looking for Monitor/3DGlasses/VideoCard).

    quadro
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro_...cs_boards.html
    monitors
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-visi...uirements.html
    glasses
    http://store.nvidia.com/DRHM/store?A...tID=227658600#

one last question, Its ok for work the 3D Vision Wireless Glasses Kit? Or I need the Vision Pro version?

    thanks a lot.

look into Zalman monitors- they're passive monitors in which you can use Real D glasses

Thanks jvpike, I knew about the zalman monitors, you know the main differences between Zalman + RealID vs Acer + Nvidia 3D Vision?

one is passive (zalman) and one is active (acer)... passive is always the best way to go

do some research on passive and active 3d

I did the research, now I understand the difference.
I guess passive monitors are more comfortable for nuke compositing.

    thanks

active with nvidia 3d vision will let you just do the nuke viewer, zalman you have to dedicate an entire monitor to the viewer since you can turn the whole thing on or off.

I've been using the Nvidia 3d vision system for a while now and haven't had any problems at all. Very little ghosting and it's pretty comfortable to view.

    thanks Theta.
I finaly buy a Acer 120mhz monitor and nvidia vision kit. also I have a quadro 4600 and another pc with quadro 4000.
    But;
I cant make it work in nuke 6. On the views>stereo I have only Anaglyph (which I was using with colored glasses) , Mixviews, SideBySide, Reconverge.
I have the latest drivers, I enable stereo for the application. But seems that I`m forgetting something.
    Any ideas?

thanks beaker, but when I press opengl stereo, the viewer starts refreshing but nothing happends.
In my old comp I have an anaglyph node, I have to replace it with Mixerviews node?

You don't need any type of view node. Mix view node would probably break it. Pending you have both streams where you have the viewer connected then it should just work.

Is the nvidia usb dongle is hooked up for syncing the monitor to the glasses?

If you're seeing the OpenGL option in that menu, then should have everything setup correctly.
Delete the Anaglpyh node and pipe both views into a JoinViews node and make sure you're viewing that.

In the Nvidia settings, do you have Stereo - Display mode set to On-Board DIN connector (with Nvidia IR Emitter)?

I have On-Board DIN connector (with Nvidia IR Emitter) and also try with Generic too. I have a comp only with 2 channels conected with JoinView and a viewer in the end. I´m using Nuke 6.1. I bet is a minor mistake because I follow all the setup steps.
Also I have the lastest drivers both for nvidia vision and quadro fx.
Thanks a lot for the help guys.

EDIT: I make it work! I just had to set up the monitor at 120mhz.

final question, I can adjust the 3d depth like the offset on Anaglyph node? Now I have my comp but no controls over the stereo depth.

You can do a basic 2d adjustment with the reconverge node. Anything more then that requires ocula's interaxial shifter or more complex rebuilding of the scene.
