    Hi everyone
i use Fusion for compositing and post-production.
I have a 3D sequence exported in EXR format with ObjectID inside.

Can someone tell me how to connect a Fusion particle emitter to a specific object/part in the scene ? (basically a tracking task but need be very precise)

I need to connect some smoke FX to a wheel.
There is faster and better method/pipeline ?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can reply.
    Bye

You can extract the Object from the ID pass and use that to emit (kind of flat/bitmap emiter) but since you are coming from 3D why not try exporting the camera and a locator and use the locator to drive the emiters position? This gives better control. These days (fusion 6.1) you could even export a mesh (wheel) and use the mesh to emit. Also you could export the mesh of the car and use it a matte object to simulate real interaction in 3D. On high polys its worth to make a proxy mesh, though.
if there is a way to use the particle in 3d with real 3d data try going for it.

Hi bfloch, thanks a lot for your reply !
I will try locator in 3D space or mesh with particles.
    Really useful!

Can you also tell me which is the maximum polygon limit for a mesh in Fusion ?
I am not sure i can import a complex scene, from 3DS Max for example, in FBX format.
Maybe i need some kind of "proxy/billboard" objects ?

I dont thing there is a limit but your memory but you will see that fusion performance is week once your scene gets too complex. Try and see.
