    Hi,

I have both Nuke and Fusion installed on my Win7 x64 PC. Both are working fine, however if I have Trapcode Particular OFX for Nuke installed Fusion comes up with an error during startup as it loads C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins\Trapcode\Particular.ofx.bundle\c ontents\win64\Particular.ofx
    The error given is...
Error: trapcode.particular returned kOfxStatErrMissingHostFeature for OfxActionDescribe

Clicking ok on the Error diag box continues to load Fusion, but it automatically closes as soon as it finishes starting up.

The workaround is to move or delete the Trapcode folder then Fusion opens up fine.
GenArts Monsters and Sapphire OFX plugins installed in the same 'Common Files' location have no problem loading at all. Only Trapcode Particular.

Does anyone know another way around this so I don't have to keep moving the Trapcode folder? Can I force Fusion to ignore this plugin and\or error somehow? Or better still, can I get the plugin to work in Fusion? (not that I really need it to)

I've tried to search for answers, but all I could find was info about Trapcode Shine causing Fusion to crash if it was selected.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Found another permanent work around for this.
Install Trapcode Particular for Nuke. I was hoping it would let me pick the install director so I could change its location, that way Fusion would not see it. Unfortunately you can not change the location at the time of install. Instead manually move the Trapcode folder from...
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins\
    to
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Nuke\
This will still let Nuke load it and it also stops Fusion from looking at it and trying to use it.

Hope this helps other. It was annoying me.

In the OFX specs there is no way for a host to tell if a plugin is supported if it matches the architecture.
Ideally all hosts are supported and if not that something like a kOfxStatErrMissingHostFeature should be raised from within the Plugin - or it is installed in the supported hosts domain.

We had similar issues with Boris Red which on a newer version were solved so I hope that is doable in Particular as well. We'd be glad to provide testing for Red Giant.
