I have some "static" shots from Super 16mm film that I need to track in some simple stuff like signs (scanned in Full HD, dpx). The problem (and reason for tracking) is that since it is film (super 16mm), it is moving ever so slightly between frames. To my disposal I have AE CS5 and Mocha 5 for 2D tracking, but I can use Boujou, SynthEyes as well if they happen to have better tracking algorithms. I am used to track handheld stuff, from film and digital cameras, and that is simple compared to static shots that have movement from the gate/telecine.
Worst comes to worst I guess I just have to bite the bullet and do it frame by frame. Any sweet suggestions? This must have been a common issue 5-10 years ago before digital cameras started to get big.
Thank you!
