Hello there. I am currently working on a project where I will be bringing in 3D animaitons from MAX6 into Combustion via RPF. The I will add the particle FX and render the output. (basic setup)

However, When I put 3 or 4 particle FX it crashes.

    AMD Athlon 1700+XP
    OS: Win 2k
    Combustion version 3.0.0.something
    RAM: 512

Do you think it's memory or possible a workflow issue? or both?

Any response would be greatly appreciated

Try using the commit to disk feature on your particle operators/layers.
and any other operators that are fairly intensive
This should help out a bit.
    and get som more ram.
also if your rendering to some of the quicktime codecs check that its not setting keyframes,
    good luck

you can also try to change the OpenGL settings on the Combustion preferences (software/hardware). Good luck and ciao.

What kind of graphics card are you using?

Which resolution are you dealing with?

For start I would say that 512 for compositing it's a bad start.

    Cheers,

    I'm using a Matrox P750 card.
    Doing 1280x720 resolution

I will try the save to disk option as well as open GL
Since these are tests I will go to 720x480 instead.
