Hi, I've seen in the Nuke's user's guide one chapter titled "To view a scene over a 2D background image". It says how yo view a 2d output within the 3d view using a "wipe" from within the 3d view with the B channel connected to a 2d node.

This way, if I adjust the opacity, I can see a blend between the 3d wireframe and the 2d backgorund, but it's not very appropiate to work with since all is semitransparent.

I'm confused with the explanation since it shows a screenshot where a background is showed under the 3d wireframe without any transparency adjustent. The wireframe is just over the background like an over operation. How can I accomplish that????

    Thanks.

Change your 3D objects display option in the control panel to 'wireframe', that gives you what they have shown in the user guide.
Sometimes you're just looking at the wrong side of the table

Hi doodle, what you're saying is what I've done first and only works using the transparency.

Hmm.. it works exactly as the picture shown in the manual for me, with no transparency adjustment.

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong place. What do you mean with "Control Panel"??? It could be the 3d display settings or the 3d node properties... I set the wireframe in all of them but no way. I'l enumerate what I do, for example:

    1. I've an Sphere node and a Checherboard node (3d and 2d)
    2. Set the first viewer channel to the Checkerboard
    3. Set the second viewer channel to the Sphere node
    4. In the sphere node I change the "display" to "wireframe"
    5. press W to enter wipe mode
    6. As result I see the image splitted with a half 3D (sphere) and the other half with the chackerboard (2d). To see both together I can only adjust the transparency in the wipe control.

    What I'm missing?

    Thanks.

what version do u use ? i think there's a bug on 6.3 early version. On 6.1 and 6.2 , got no problem. But if u try on 6.3v2 or v4 , when switch to 'over' mode the imageon B channel becomes black/blank. so you can't composite wireframe on top of B channel. But if you use 6.3 v7 , it's fixed already. anyway the 3d scene suppose to be in channel A and use 'over ' mode, read the docs.

    cheers
