So I just used my tax return to customize my own brand new workstation, which is totally awesome. The hard part was migrating everything over from my old one.

I installed all my software and it all runs great... except Photoshop CS5 Extended.

No matter what installers I use, or how many times I restart my machine, or try to install updates, it always crashes on me when I try to create a new project or open a PSD.

I can open photoshop just fine. It doesn't crash until I create a new project. And it always happens like clockwork. I'll click "new project", then the window will come up for me to customize my project settings (pixel dimensions, DPI, etc..), and after I click ok, I immediately get a notfication that "Photoshop CS5 64-Bit Has Stopped Working".

The only options I have are "Check Online for a Solution and Close Program" or just "Close Program". If I choose the former, it doesn't do anything, it just closes it after hestitating for a moment, so that's no help.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing different times and it just WILL NOT work. Ironically, it's the one program I need right now as I'm currently doing a set extension for a film. In case you need to know my specs, I'm running:

Intel Core i7 2700k chip
16gb Wintec DDR3 RAM
Nvidia Quadro 4500 graphics card (older model from my last workstation until I can afford a brand new gfx card)
Asrock Motherboard
Windows 7 Ultimate

Any help is greatly appreciated, so thanks in advance. I'm hoping I don't have to do a full rebuild of my system just to get this one measily program to work the way its supposed to.
