Sharp reel man. Like it!
I'm really not a fan of long breakdowns. If I were looking at reels to hire someone I would have watched the first two and turned it off. Show the full shots first, then at the end you can have breakdowns. I know what CG layers go into a shot. I don't care to see them all.
Show the shots, then if you want the breakdowns at the end for your friends to see them thats fine. Also, it's best not to scatter your reel like this. If its a lighting reel show lighting, if its a comp reel show comp, if its a match move reel show that....don't show everything in one reel. People looking for someone are looking for someone that is great at one thing...not a little good at everything.
I personally have no breakdowns in my reel, since its near impossible to get source material from film and television. It isn't needed tho. I've never had a hard time finding work.
I can see I wasn't the only one feeling that the breakdowns were a bit long. A friend of mine is a sound guy on sets and he keeps saying the same as you gentle fury he doesn't get why we 3d guys always make reels he gets always called first. You must have then a LOT of contacts in industry :P
