    Hi Guys,

just curious to know what are your experiences with the Planar Tracker compared to Mocha.
I personally like Mocha better ´cause I think the Tracker just is a tad better.
Then again, maybe I'm just too lazy to seriously concern myself with the Nuke Tracker.

I would really appreciate your input. Thanks a lot!

I find i get much better results with mocha.
I think because mocha will try to track an entire pattern/patch, whereas Nuke will still use feature matching (like the camera tracker).
I also find the offset tracking in Mocha much better.

Of course the nuke integration is really nice, but overall if I had access to Mocha I'd always use that.

Overall, the mocha tracker is better. there is no comparison.
the integration with Nuke is probably quicker to use than the inbuilt nuke planar tracker. (It's a very easy copy paste exercise.... and the mocha tracker is quicker overall = time saved)

It'll pick up tracke that the nuke one won't. no question... If it'll track in Nuke, then it'll track better and quicker in mocha...

stopping a track, and readjusting the tracking splines works in realtime in mocha..
as opposed to the cancel button pounding you have to do in all the nuke trackers just to get them to stop tracking. (God stopping a tracker takes forever. in nuke - at least as of 6.3v1)

Nuke planar tracker is really no replacement for a copy of mocha, mocha pro, or mocha for AE.
The only thing it is better than, is having no planar tracker at all... and then, not by much.

    I agree 100% with Invader777
The pipeline and working in sessions (for example when doing paint+patch+matchmove) is quicker.
But to express the truth i haven't dig Nuke planar track that much

Mocha blows Nuke Planar out of the water!!!!

Nuke's "planar" tracker is actually just a point tracker that tracks many points within a boundry and uses those points to determine the boundaries relative corner pin position in space. Mocha is a LOT more complicated than that and can handle things like motion blur and grain very well.
