So I shot some footage and took an hdr light probe to practice matchmoving and integration but I am not sure where to go from here. I can see the CG element still doesn't completely sit in the plate but I am not really sure what else to do. I have distorted the chroma, defocused it, tried to match the black and white points, added a light wrap, and added grain. I feel like it still needs to be grittier in order to match the quality of the plate but I am not sure what to do to it.

Any insight and critique will be greatly appreciated.

The perspective is off where it interacts with the water. Could also use some work on the water interaction. Usually mineral/dirt build-ups leave a darker region around the base of things partially submerged in water.

Needs a reflection in the water and some shadowing/occlusion on the water as well.

looks a bit cut out, especially the top part of the dragon.
missing water integration, occlusion, check your black.
    scale doesn't help you.
as well as the angle of the whole picture. looks unnatural.
feels like there is some sort of motion blur, is there any? if so, turn it off, unless this is going to be animated.
whites aren't matching...clouds are much brighter as well as some parts on the far bridge.
what's the material of this dragon? what's your reference?
no need to add lightwrap, sure it may help but first get the picture right and the you can start adding the other details.
    other then that looks promising.

usually the details are 10/15% of the final Image, being said that. concentrate more on what you want to achieve and the push it for the final look.

    hope this helps

Hey thanks very much for the feedback. I have already started to add in the things dcompz suggested but I think you bring up some really good points and your questions are probably things I should be asking my self any time I do a comp so thanks for spelling it out for me lol. I agree with your critique of the unnatural feel to it all and after being away for the weekend at a career fair I think their is a major problem with the composition as you suggest so I will rethink the entire thing as well as try again with the lighting.

    Thanks again
