Hi guys, i'm new to matchmoving and am looking for just some basic advice as a few things i've read kinda contradict eachother

Anyway I have a Panasonic DMC fz150, It has a 1/2.33" live MOS sensor, am I right in thinking this would be a filmback of 0.613 x 0.4884 for an 16:9 aspect ratio for 1080p

My main question however is how to shoot the footage, would tracking software (using 3de) be better suited to progressive or interlaced footage, how would you guys go about preparing the footage in a compositing software like after effects.

I imagine this is all fairly basic stuff to you guys so sorry in advance but i've always found the info on this site helpful so thought it might be a good idea to make a post.

    Thanks

    Jon

Go for progressive, less trouble with everything.
If you say "plz" because it's shorter than "please" then I'll say "no" because it's shorter than "yes"

Something with one of my cameras, which may or may not affect your one.
I shoot 50i rather than 25p, then convert the footage later to progressive 25p. The reason is simply due to the fact my camera has more rolling shutter artefacts whilst in progressive shooting mode. The only way is to test this out yourself, also it'll be worth shooting with a shutter speed a bit higher than typical (go up to 120 perhaps).
This is a reliable chart for sensor sizes:
