    Hey All..

How would one showcase stereoscopic material in a normal demo reel..

I have a lot of normal 2D work, plus a few stereo clips that i would like to include. Should i show anaglyph or are there any define means of showcasing stereoscopic material within a standard reel..

don't have that much material to make a standalone stereo reel.. but want to add a few clips to my normal reel..

    please advice.

just show them in 2d also and give a note that it was a stereo show

or is there something "special" to this stereo3d shots?

or do you mean conversion? then i would show the depth layer you created in a breakdown

I haven't seen any stereo shots in reels yet. I thought about it for some of the work I have done but decided that it wasn't really neccissary.

The easiest way would be to render the shots into anaglyph and add them to your 2D reel. Alternatively you could try uploading a 3D version to Youtube. That way they viewer can choose how they view the 3D as Youtube lets you pick. The only other option I can think of is to author a 3D Blu-Ray.

Assuming the reel would be used for getting a job, would anyone really care about seeing the stereo version?
I'd just label it as a stereo shot.

I had some stereo conversion on my first professional reel. I didn't have access to the depth mattes but I did have both plates. In the end, I just put some text in the lower corner of each conversion shot stating what I had done for the shot. I also "faked" the stereo for a second by splitting off the red channel with the wiggler in AE. an amusing but completely unnecessary flair to my shot. It's entirely up to you how to present a breakdown for a conversion shot, but you could also freeze the shot on a frame and "ping pong" the shot (switch between the left eye and right eye for a few seconds to reveal the stereo/convergence).
