    basically,
just go add operator trapcode stroke,
click on the polygon tool and draw your stroke then play with the settings.....
there should be tutorials in the manual.

well I have 1 layer and I want use trapcode to create a mask for this layer..
in my mind I need add an operator 3D stroke.. to this layer.. it´s correct? or I don´t need link 3D stroke to the layer?..
But when I add a 3D stroke.. I can´t use another layer for reference to create a polygon..
    sorry for my bad english!...
    I´m newbie in combustion!>

You can do this 2 ways,
    1. Create Trapcode 3D stroke to the layer your polygon is on.
when its finished. Copy and paste it to the footage you want to.
Just make sure all of your layers are exactly the same size.

    2. Create Trapcode 3D stroke to the layer your polygon is on.
    when its finished.
On your footage add a channel set matte operator and choose the trapcode layer.

    hope that helps.

    Hi,

I was just reading in the trapcode help for this and i see that :

"In hosts other than After Effects, Presets are the ONLY way to create a stroke effect."

this means that you cannot use internal masks in combustion with 3D Stroke. You can however make them in illustrator and add them to the presets.

If anyone knows differntly please let me know!

    Thanks,

    Josh.

    I also found this :

    http://www.trapcode.com/host_support_notes.html

"The plug-in does not use regular masks like it does in AE, instead the 3D Stroke plug-in enables a Tool that you can use to paint the shape. It is found in the Toolbar when the 3D Stroke plug-in is active. It looks like the "Polygon/Bezier Mask" tool."

this magic tool doesn't appear in C4 though...

You need the version for Combustion:

    http://www.trapcode.com/download/TrapcodePlugs4c3.zip

These were written for c3, but work fine in c4..
