Any fusion gurus explain the intricacies in creating a rain effect in fusion. A hint or idea in the overall break down be very helpful.

Particular effect simulates water driving through the the Window glass of a car when it is running through a light rain. You know it creates a stream running down the window. The view is from inside the car. My initial idea was to create it without using the particles. That was so tedius. Then running the particles through the alpha for a predefined stream animated gave some result. But the drops iteself are not too realistic. My experience with fusion particle is extremely limited.

If you could drive me to some fusion particle tutorial that has some hints would be nice too.

    Thanks

bump.... still need help tiguring this out.

well was messing around with the particles. Finally found the way to do it. But there is 1 main problem which tells me, fusion ain't the right one to do these kind of things.

Spin. The particle collision and feedback (bounce / spin direction) after the collision along the walls of the stream is not correct for a close-up shot.

Hopefully, i can find a free maya box in weekened to finish this off. Damn I miss fluids.

Well, here's Hugh's tutorial on how to do something similar in shake (I say something similar, this is for rain on a camera lens, but transposing it to a planar, tracked surface shouldnt be too difficult).

no, dont follow shake tuts for fusion.

i include rain on the fusion crowd replacements dvd.

its easy. 2d or 3d rain. motion blur using particles. the fusion advanced particle DVD and Learnging particles DVD's are what you should look at. dont waste time going down the wrong path.
