Welcome to the voting for VFX304 Transformers!

Congratulations to everyone who took part in what became the ultimate extended and most difficult to date VFX Challenge! And now for the voting!

The thread with all the entries is here http://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6648

and the indivdual entries are listed below with hyperlinks.

    JesterJJZ

    apoc519

    Bobcrystal_guiillt_Eight_Jp_gris

    drswoboda

    Stringkeeper

    TroGlothe

    Curtis Martin

    Alexx

    Stringkeeper

    haz

    veivailija

You can also find a master RAR HERE for a single download with all the submissions, courtesy of TroGlothe!

Please take a good look at the entries and place your votes for the best entry in the poll above!

Be honest, vote based on the work, the idea and the execution, don't get your friends to join and vote for you...we can tell and it aint gonna fly!

And just as a heads up, since it seems is impossible to separate the submission thread which announces the challenge, from the discussion thread, moving ahead we will just make the submission thread the official discussion thread for the current posted challenge and we will just post a separate thread for submissions 1/2 way through the month...

Hi. Really grrreat work on this one guys. Congrats!!!
I liked both apoc519 and Bobcrystal_guiillt_Eight_Jp_gris' works but at the end I voted for apoc519 for the effort by doing this all by himself, not in a team. I agree that is good to work in a team but to be one-man-show is much harder

btw...will I ever receive my prize for the 302 contest?

Nice breakdown jester!! I know it would have been a lot more work, but i think it would have been cool if you could have added more people / extras into the shot, but overal i really enjoy the stuff i have seen you do. Great job! Nice to shoot on the HVX200 also! I have used that camera many times and it really puts out some nice images. The 60fps for slow motion is really nice too. Images compared to the Varicam, are pretty close too. Anyway, Nice work!!!

Hey thanks! I wanted more people...that was the plan...but getting people together is tough when you don't pay them. They were all fans from various Transformers boards so they wanted to do it. The one guy could only come on a different day so I had to get him in there somehow. I can tell this seems to be more of a "3D" forum...I kinda went a different route, oh well.

for some reasons the challenges have been very 3d driven lately - we hope to change that over the next few challenges make your comping skills really shine...

I hope you're right I haven't really entered any of the challenges yet mostly because I don't really feel like messing around with maya anymore.. But whatever the majority wants is fine by me, I don't mind sitting aside and enjoying everyone's great entries!

So when's the new one being announced?

Yeah, I enjoy 3d but i would also like to see a challenge based stricktly on compositing. Thats cool that you had people come out from random transformers boards! I bet they had fun. Anyway, good job!

    Hello everyone!

Hreat job on all your entries! some really cool stuff was posted for this challenge i hope many of you will post how you did some of the shots!

Since i noticed someone talking about the challenges and how they have been lately i thought i would bring this up.... Three weeks ago i posted a thread where i proposed a new kind of challenge (http://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7117).
Basically my idea was to have challenges where we had to replicate an effect from a commercial or something like that (more details on my thread), i dont want to get to detail but check it out las time i tried contacting the "oracle" but got no response so i figure this thread will be read by the moderators and get some attention.

    Here's the link http://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7117

    Cheers!

sorry for the delay the net challenge should be up (hopefully) tonight... and true to our word it will be more 2d based. we figure moving ahead we will try to alternate between 3d based compositing and 2d based compisiting to keep things pretty even
