    hi

i m rendered one diffuse and z depth pass using maya, and set the image depth to RGBA (half)4X32 bit. if i open in that image in imf_disp.exe (image viewer) i can view the images (i cant view z_depth coz imf_disp doesnt support view of z_depth). but when i open these images in shake, it doesnt show any thing, not the diffuse and also not the zdepth. now my question is how can i composite the image using shake.

    thanks

What type of image are you rendering out? TIF,TGA, EXR, SGI? Shake can only read certain image files, and it has a problem reading .exrs off the bat.

hey, this may or may not help. first make sure you can view the images in f-check, and then try to lower the bit depth to 16, if its a tiff. in shake a z depth is nothing more than a gradiated alpha channel, what are you trying to composite with the z depth?
    hope it helps.

    hi
i cant view the 32 bit image in fcheck coz it doesnt support, but i can view the image in imf_disp, but in 8bit image (which i tried), the gradiated alpha channel is not smooth, (it shows very thin lines). these lines are not becoz of any other issues in the scene but becoz of less colors in the image, so to smoothen the image i want to use 32 bit image. And i want to give dof with the help of z-depth.
    thanks

Im sure that shake supports 32 bit channels. but I dont think you need it. if you render an iff image you can see the z-depth channel in f-check and shake supports it.
