well i'm not too sure of the market these days, but a decent artist I knew a few years ago in commercials was making 6 figures on inferno. Another Film animator was also in the 80K a year... Mind you now that the market is totally saturated, it's hard to say what is normal these days.
The best way to find out what you're worth is to start shopping around for other jobs. Even if you don't take them, they will at least give you a bit of an idea as to what the area will support financially.
Also, saying no to a job offer can sometimes get you more money in the long run, as does changing jobs. It's odd these days that to climb the animation heirarchy it's often easier to take a job elsewhere than it is to climb the ranks at the same company.
