That's great, but it looks just like project 3 from 3Dsmax 4 Media Animation. It's a new angle, but I would look forward to seeing more of your original work.
Keep it up!
That is what its modeled after but my teacher wants us to make our own 20 second intro using 3dmax and after effects cause the book intro is pretty boring
not too bad, but still frames dont really help too much in assessing a motion graphics project (hence "motion" graphics)
if i would have to judge it based on that, i'd say you definitely need to change your font -- not the best readability -- and i'd add a dark strip behind the text to pop it from the globe.. texture the continents to something (or have them a little transparent) give your materials reflection maps, because they look too flat right now, you should think maybe about sprucing that up with some reflections or bumps (more like metal if that's what you're going for) i would work on making the background more subtle -- it draws your eye away from your main elements too much..
one thing i dont know if you took into account is the thin-ness of your wireframe lines -- remember it's broadcast so it'll be going over an interlaced NTSC signal (you're in PA so i'm assuming ntsc)
that means if the lines are thin enough to get caught on only 1 of the 2 fields, your image will "hum" a little and look really really nasty, a quick and easy fix to that is to add a 1 or 2 pixel vertical blur on the offending elements... and dont forget your NTSC color depth is WAY different than a computer monitor!!
also, i would hope that you have some other "scenes" or elements that will be moving about all the time -- because 20 seconds of a globe no matter how good it is gets boring..
ps: does your teacher know that pretty much NO news open is 20 seconds? they're absolute MAX is around 12.. and 12 seconds is a LONG time when you're doin broadcast quality graphics... soooo much to do in that time
just my 2 cents
