Well, I'm studying Lustre over at fxphd.com and I could forward the question to my professor.

Did you get some further? I already have my issues loading some footage. Is Lustre only eating very special fileformats?!! I tried Movs and Tiffs.

    I have the same problem.

I need to import TIFFs from Shake (v4.1) to Lustre, but Lustre does not recognise these TIFFs. I recognises Tiffs from any other application, though.

I thought it might have to do with the ByteOrder (Little Endian vs. Big Endian) but this does not seem to be the case.

Does someone know, why this is?

    Hi schwarzer Sperling
Your already a step further than me. I heard Lustre only works with quadroFX so I stopped "Research" for my belongings. What Graphcard do you have? If its not a QuadroFX I get mad.

The following uncompressed file formats are all valid for use in Lustre:
    • DPX (8bit, 10bit, 16bit) *.dpx
    • Cineon (8bit, 10bit) *.cin
    • Targa (8bit, 10bit) *.tga
    • TIFF (8bit, 10bit, 16bit) *.tiff
    • SGI (8bit,10bit) *.sgi
    • Bitmap (8bit, 8bit w/ alpha) *.bmp
NOTE: you cannot work with compressed files in Lustre.

In 2005, I used Lustre 1.1 with my GeForce FX5200 128MB. It works fine.
If you want to use Lustre 2007 smoothly you must have QuadroFX card.

    Some corrections:
    • DPX (10bit) *.dpx
    • Cineon (10bit) *.cin
    • Targa (8bit, 16bit) *.tga
    • TIFF (8bit, 16bit) *.tiff
    • SGI (8bit,16bit) *.sgi
    • Bitmap (8bit) *.bmp
Has to be uncompressed and some formats are a little picky, some apps don't export them the way Lustre reads them.

Can Lustre read DPX files with alphas?

I'm not sure what the DI guys are using, but I recently had to do a load of conversions from RGBA DPXs to Cineon files and tiff mattes.

No it can't. For the mattes they need to sit in a folder called matte in the footage folder, files being RGBA uncompressed TIFFs or TGAs with the exact same name, then it should work.
