    Hey people,

I'm a CG student in France (so sorry for my poor english) and I'm new on this forum.
I generally work with maya, photoshop and other stuff, but I realize that I'm very interesting about Vfx and Compositing. By the way, I want to specialize myself in compositing with actually.

So like the title said, I have a BIG problem with Apple Shake 2.5 (because work on PC). When I run it, there is some interface bugs and I can't use it, so I wanna know if somebody know how can I Fix the problem.
I already try to look my monitors parameters, but everything seems OK.

    Thanks.

    best solution:
work with the new shake version on linux..... or buy a nivida-card.......

If that's an option for you, I would suggest to migrate to fusion. Simply because shake is no longer a pc based software so the only thing you have for the windows PC is the old 2.5 buggy version..

Other solution is to use linux as suggested here. . Or buy a mac.

I don't really know how it fixed. I was working with 2 monitors and since I disconnected one of them, its OK .

For the project, this is just a 3d school project.

Turning off one monitor is one solution for this problem (I have the same problem). If you don't want to go through that hassle, then you can add an environment variable to your system and it will fix the shake problem.

Right click on my computer, click properties, go to the advanced tab, then click on environment variables way down at the bottom. Then you want to add a new system variable (bottom section).

    Variable name: NR_OPENGL_RENDER
    Variable value: 1

Once you do that you should be able to run shake with both monitors on with no problem. I still seem to have an update problem in my viewer (updates very slow), but I have seen others do this solution with no problems at all.

    Worth a try.

  12. #12 bburger thank you so very much
i had the same problem F.R.OS.T. had and thanks to you i finally have shake up and running again. THANK YOUR VERY MUCH! i' have no idea what the enviroment variable means, and to tell you the truth, i first read your response and did not follow your advice, cause i thought i might mess up the system... jajajaja. utill the frustration was just unbeareble and i went ahead and did that. WORKED PERFECTLY. ¿could explain just what those commands mean?

    Props!
