    Here the other day i was about to copy some of my Combustion workspace files from a network drive down to my own PC.
    BUT... There were like a million and i didn't have a clue wich of them it was.

    So i decided to make a program to view *.CWS file thumbnails.
    The program itself is quite simple, you open it, click select a file, and it will automatically show the Thumbnail just like the one shown inside Combustion.
    The thumbnails will automatically be saved as a bmp file along with being shown inside the application.

    You can download it here;
    http://files.filefront.com/CWS_Thumb.../fileinfo.html
    The program is written in AutoIT and can be decompiled.
    You can also check the sourcecode and process of the development here:
    http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/in...howtopic=41847

    The program is still a bit slow when rendering the thumb but it'll be fixed soon.
    The "Edit Current" is also deactivated for now but will later make it possible to replace the thumbnail from any *.CWS file with a bmp file.
    I am also planning on being able to view a intire folder at once enstead of one file at a time, but untill i fix the loop speed problem it will remain at file per file basis.

    Overall this is just something you would use once in a million years but i just love to make apps like these.

    I have just uploaded a new version with fixed userinterface, filename and render time.
    Reduced rendertime + processing time due to removal of serval trash loops.
    Filenames now set correct on large directory path's.

    Still too slow for multi preview.

    I thought of maybe add the bmp files to a cabinet file along with a indexfile so that if you preview a file that you have previewed before and the have not been modified it will skip the render and just show the file from the cabinet.

    Thanks to users i have discovered a critical flaw in the color code and made a critical code update that make the colors display 100% correct.
    Minor speed fix, preformence is increased by 10%.
    2 more hotkey's have been added;
    *F1 - Credits
    *F2 - Open New

    This is the last update for now as i am working on other projects at the moment.

    Very good tool indeed !
    Thanks.
    Up until now I've always saved a bmp frame of the cws workspace.
    This will save me a lot of time, especially for all those workspaces where I forgot to save a bmp preview.

    Thanks for the feedback and the loads of mail.

    Due to the huge request for a expansion of this application, i have decided to finish it as it was originally intended to be.
    I am currently finishing a DLL for Windows making this program unnecessary .
    Basicly making Windows handle CWS files like bmp, jpg and other known image files and showing the thumbnail in the explorer.
    The render is now below 1sec and can be used for folders with serval *.cws files in it.

    For an example,
    this folder took 4,2sec to get all thumbnails.

    (Note, this screenshot is NOT from the CWS Thumbnail Viewer application downloadable in this thread, but a new upcomming release of a ShellExtention for Windows)

    The dll is not yet ready for public release yet but i'll be uploading it shortly.

    For thoes people who have requested a Mac Version i also have some great news.
    I have decided to take some time off to learn the programming lang' Phyton.
    And with that i am later planning to release a MacOSX Version of the CWS Thumbnail Viewer, with folderlookup to make it much like the new Windows shellextention being able to view multiple files at same time.

    So, i thought of adding a icon to the CWS files so you are able to see the diffrence between normal images and Combustion Workspaces other than the *.cws exention.
    Here is a little example;

    What do you guys think?
    (or should i make both)

    I think with the icon would be a good idea, but it may be nice to add an option to show without the icon for those that wish it.
    Persoanlly I'd have the icon showing as it's more logical.

    I am sorry for the delay of this shell extention.

    I want to be able to release a working model for both Windows XP and Vista but i have not been able to develop it futhre due to alot of work lately.

    If someone hunger for the alpha version(as seen on the pictures futhre up) feel free to drop a message and ill send it, but it is still not ready yet and there is still a lot of debugging to do before i can release a final version.
