Here's the humble beginnings of my first entry into a vfx challenge here. I'm going for a sort of theme park in the sky kind of paradise. Cuz roller coasters are awesome and a roller coaster in the sky would be 10x cooler!

I do have a particle set up to make it look like the coaster is actually going in and out of the clouds but i haven't added it in the render yet. C&C welcome!

Nice! That was going to be my first choice, by the way. I'm hunting for new ideas now, and looking forward to your finshed piece

For me thats a fine idea and to think now of the particles integration is well down in your workflow. Keep going on, your entry will surely be great!

thanks for all the support guys!
Here's a small update. The wheel thing is the beginnings of a spinning ride (almost like the real life swinging space shuttle ride) that the roller coaster will jump through. But this ride just goes in a continuous circle.

The rest of the park and other rides and things will be past the first clouds but i haven't modeled or pretty much thought of any of them yet.

well i finally got to work on my entry today and i was able to add more detail to the spinning ride and do a lot of work on the roller coaster animation.

its not perfected yet but i think i should have it done by the entry date.

    good luck to everyone else!

I really like the design of this. The only thing is if you had to create the POV of the rollercoaster car the environment would need to be a full 360. Of course you wouldn't have to, you could just show the car traveling the rails as we fly by. Either way it looks like it's going to be really nice. -Turb

Swat - This really looks amazing. Really nice 3D work and modeling and also very nice masking into the clouds. Way to go! -Turb
