I think I might have a problem since now I have a 25sec at 25 fps movie coded with mpeg4 at a res of 450 x 239 and it is already 10megs....wonder how big it will be when it is done and at a res of 720x
please tell me if my movie exceeds the 15mb what sould I do? Use another codec? h264 is ok, will all be able to see it?
    thank you.

exactly, . we were told we shoudl be focusing on her intergration and the rest of the shot, yet its harder to intergrate her if she is comped on black with no alpha. now we either have to roto it or try to pull a key on black and still roto it.

I like the idea that it is just part of the challenge.

There're going to be more than 20 submissions this time (if most ppl do submit) so there're also very low chances ppl will download all of them and watch them.. We need to find a solution for that otherwise the votes won't be so fair..

I think we should use shadowmaker's idea to combine all submissions to a single quicktime but we need to plan it ahead otherwise it wouldn't work..

Im with Dreamie. Combine them all to a single Quicktime. Thats fair. Most people will only download the submissions that has the most votes, and skip the rest.

we could raise the size up to 20mb to make it easier for the encoding... we have also decided to give everyone another week to finish up their work so final entries will be due on the 24th...

we will also use the new flash player for the voting

you can grab the hi-res vids from the submission thread... and use the player for fast previews... i will see if we can add the hi-res links to the player page underneath the list maybe...

anyways, just a heads up to anyone who has already submitted, if you do more work you can simply 'edit' your post in the submission thread to update your entry

Did I say a single quicktime? I don't think so, but if I did, I revise my opinion: what I *meant* to say is combine them in a single file (zip, rar or something like that) so we won't have to download them all seperately. But a single fileformat (like Quicktime) is best to prevent all sorts of weirdness with having to install a zillion different players to watch all entries. I like the Flashpage the best though. Makes it a little easier to switch between similar entries.

I guess I misunderstood you, but never mind, the flash player is a much better solution. Whether we'd have a zip or one quicktime, come to think of it not anyone will want to d/l one HUGE file.. The flash player allows to view it easily and quickly. Yes lousy quality but still if I'd see a preview of smth I like I'd bother to d/l the full ver..

it will be a big problem if the movie size doesn't match the requested size? lets say is 800x424 px instead of 720x480 px (but still within mb size limit)....just to know if I need to resize it or not. thank you.
