Hey Jaisingh, yeah it's funny how Lost Boys translates into different cultures! We did a lot of work out of Mexico City so I've heard my fair share of bad jokes... I can forgive you!

And Niceguysan, yeah sorry, class is all full up for 2007... It's hard to turn good talent away but I'm committed to making this the best VFX program available. Without keeping my class size down Lost Boys Learning wouldn't be any different than the other big schools.

Good luck with you quest, and if you're still looking around in a years time give me a call!

    Cheers,

    M

The networking opportunities there are pretty extraordinary, due to the fact that ALL of their instructors are relevant industry professionals. They have instructor galleries and credits on their website...which is pretty rare for a school.
I have contacted Gnomon twice they havent responded, either they r too busy or they r

Now i am finalized with VANARTS ,
Seneca will be second option.if not Vanarts.

Niceguysan just make sure you have clear plan of what your goals are when you go there. Dont let them force you into talking classes you my not need or will help you in your future. Best of luck to you in Canada.

Vancouver Film School is a really good school to learn visual effects. Its only 1 year and you will pretty much learn most aspects of vfx. Of course, its a little more expensive in tuition than the other schools, but because you learn so much in such a short time I think its worth it. Worth the investment I think.

niceguysan, hey man i am from india too, from new delhi, i applied for VFS and i got selected and i paid my fees unfortunately i didnt got visa,i had bad luck. and they refended my fees keeping , few 00's of dollar(. it hurts,

if i were at your plac ei would join VFS ,teached at VFS is much more practical and they teach a lot in less time and more is practical that theory, and yeah it true they are a bit more expensive, but i think its worth,

BTW i my self i am stuck in between Gnomon and Escape
cant find out where to apply..

yeah man thisis also true gnomon do not reaply some times, u have to bamboo there ***.
i us e to send them e mails regularly, and once i got a reaply , saying " we literally get 1000's of mail per day and it seems that u want importance , how stupid.. is that,

man it natural if u send an e mail u will need a repaly, anyways
    se ya and good luck

Only be smart, I know nothing bad about VanArts, but I just relating my art school experience in an ever changing industry, that become more competive each year. Just don't pay money for classes you think may not help reach your goals, study the courses, be in charge of your education.

Best is very subjective, IMO right now AAU in San Francisco, VFS Vancover, SCAD Georgia, Lost Boys Learning Vancover, FX PHD online, possibly Gnomon. not necessarily in that order.

maybe i missed it, but... any list of the suitable EUROPEAN schools that:

-are not providing any other kind of courses apart from vfx stuff

-has a part of internship or assistance inside the course

since i am italian i'd have some problems to move in california for a short period and with no chances to work there in the vfx area.

    thank u guys

thebota: try checking out Escape Studios in London, England... I have heard that they are one of the most well connected schools in Europe and thats half of what you get out of a school... hope this helps...
